Job Description

Build and improve backend systems that provide high-quality, real-world technical input used to train and evaluate next-generation AI systems. This contract role is fully remote and focuses on applying strong C#/.NET backend engineering expertise to scalable services, APIs, databases, and production systems. Prior AI experience is not required. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs using C# and .NET frameworks.
• Work with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, and security across backend implementations.
• Optimize existing backend processes for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues in production and staging environments.
• Document technical specifications and backend architecture to support team collaboration.
• Contribute to improvements in development processes and engineering best practices.
• Apply backend engineering expertise to work that helps improve how AI systems learn, reason, and perform.

• Expert-level proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
• Strong experience with MySQL, including database schema design and query optimization.
• Solid understanding of server-side logic, RESTful API development, and integration patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and collaboration.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and manage priorities effectively.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous learning.

• Experience developing and deploying cloud-hosted applications using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with distributed teams and Agile methodologies.
• Previous experience in high-growth, innovation-focused environments.

Hourly compensation ranges from $60 to $110.
